MTB fourzero Wheelhouse taking shape
Work is proceeding apace on the MTB fourzero wheelhouse currently under construction at the Breedendam Yachts facilities. As the yard’s flagship project, this impressive 13.37-metre boat marries high technology, a superb interior and a fantastic design by Guido de Groot.
Constructed entirely in aluminium, this recently introduced classic model incorporates lots of high-tech features. The hull has now been painted in a blue colour scheme and the wooden elements have been finalised by the expert craftsmen at the yard. Wiring and technical components will soon be fitted as the installation of the various systems gathers pace.
Owner requests
The yacht will include the very latest technologies, including several components requested specially by the owner such as a wide array of diving equipment and a hydraulic swimming ladder and gangway. Twin Volvo IPS600 engines will provide a head-turning maximum speed of 35 knots.
The first MTB fourzero wheelhouse will be equipped for both warm and cold conditions, reflecting the owner’s intention to use her in climates as diverse as the Netherlands and the Caribbean. A retractable keel will allow sailing in the Dutch Wadden Islands and other shallow regions.
Contemporary style
Her practical layout includes accommodations for four people, a well-equipped galley, a dinette, a large salon and a generous bathroom and shower. The interior design will be completed in a relaxed contemporary style that will match the timeless exterior and will contain only the finest materials, with the main wood being teak.
